Volunteer Leader Training - 9/14September 14, 2018
Effective horse leaders are extremely important to the well-being of our herd. Horses are creatures of habit and thrive on consistency. Our amazing equine partners have many different riders with a variety of challenges, they are handled by a lot of staff and volunteers on a daily basis, and they have many different leaders over the course of a program week. We strive to keep our horses healthy and happy. Providing consistent leading skills is a big part of that process.
With that goal in mind, we are offering two volunteer horse leader workshops to start fall session off on the right foot (and hoof!): Friday, September 7, from 1-3pm, and Friday, September 14, from 1-3pm.
Staff continues to work hard to understand what makes our horses tick, and how to best keep each one of these distinctive personalities happy while joined to us via a lead line. Volunteer leader training will help everyone get on the same page regarding leading techniques.
We have some great new additions to the herd, and it’s always good to partner again with horses you already know. Whether you are an experienced leader or are just getting started, this training will not only provide you with some helpful insights, it will help you provide a positive program experience for our incredible horses and ponies.
RSVP to barn staff member Shelly Burr at email@example.com or (845) 669-8235 x106. We occasionally need to reschedule an orientation due to weather or other unforeseen factors, and we cannot contact you to alert you unless you have pre-registered. Please also check our website home page or our Facebook page that day if there is bad weather. Thanks!
