University of Bridgeport Visits Pegasus

July 20, 2016

Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Jani Pallis brought her University of Bridgeport graduate-level class to our Ox Ridge chapter last week to learn about the mechanics of therapeutic riding. Jani visited with another class last summer, and it was such a huge hit, we decided to do it again!

Longtime Pegasus instructor and physical therapist Lois Brockmann discussed a variety of topics, including equine and human anatomy, adaptive tack, and why riding is such an effective therapeutic activity.

The students asked excellent questions, tested saddles and took lots of notes, which they will use when working on their assignment to design a saddle for a paraplegic rider. Visit our Facebook page for more photos.

Many thanks to Jani, her students and everyone at Pegasus who helped make this educational visit a success. We hope to see you again next year!
