Winter Horses & Me

January 12, 2015

Our winter 2015 Horses & Me session will begin the week of January 12, and the theme is "Build Your Own Horse."

At their first lesson, participants will decide which job their horse will do (jumping, dressage, Western, etc.). To help illustrate each job, we have set up a playlist of various riding disciplines on our YouTube channel (click the icon at top right to watch it).

Over the course of weeks two and three, participants will learn which horse breeds and physical characteristics are best suited for their chosen discipline, what their horse should eat, which tack and equipment to use, and all the other aspects of horsemanship needed to perform the job.

For the week four grand finale, participants will lead a Pegasus therapeutic horse around an obstacle course designed to simulate their discipline. We will congratulate each student with a special Horses & Me certificate of completion, and all friends and family are invited to attend and cheer on our participants and horses.

We can't wait to get started and see what our participants have planned for their horses!
